What are some simple front yard landscaping ideas?
So, are you trying to do a low-maintenance landscape makeover? While you think this may be an impossible task, it actually isn’t! For instance, there are plenty of simple things you can do to your outdoor space to enhance it’s curb appeal!
Firstly, think about adding some landscape lighting (there are so many options that are budget-friendly, too)! Luckily for you, We have a post on the Best Outdoor Lighting Ideas.
Secondly, think about adding some rock features anywhere in the front yard. For example, if you have a garden bed, put some rocks or even stones around the bed – it’s a natural look! Additionally, a rock bed will help decrease mud and excess water when your rain gutters spill over.
Thirdly, think about your mailbox and how you can put some landscape design around it. Often, homeowners forget that their mailbox can serve as a focal point for their home’s exterior. Personally, I like to add a pop of color around my mailbox with colorful flowers…think of a small garden surrounding it.
Lastly, think about building a stone pathway up to your entryway. It’s an easy design idea that you can go as far as you want with. For example, you could do simple pavers going up to the front door, or you could go even further and put greenery (such as evergreen shrubs) in the pathway. Trust me, adding a pathway to the front porch will totally enhance your home’s style and provide a great first impression when someone is coming to your home!

How can I landscape my front yard for cheap?
At the beginning of this article, I told you that redoing your landscaping is possible without breaking the bank. And I wasn’t lying! Therefore, here are some of my best tips and tricks to landscape your yard on a budget!
Firstly, put in a rock/stone pathway as I mentioned above. You can DIY this – just go buy some stone from a local garden shop and TA DA! This type of pathway is also super low-maintenance (so upkeep won’t cost you hundreds of dollars).
Secondly, think about putting a young tree in your front yard. This can save you hundreds (possibly even thousands) of dollars. Plus, you get to watch it grow over the years! Putting a sapling in is really a great investment, especially if you see yourself selling your home later down the line.
Thirdly, think about putting mulch in your flower beds, walkways and other places where you’re doing some garden landscaping. Moreover, it’s a great framing material and is super cost effective!
Lastly, find plants and flowers that will thrive in your geographical environment. Some plants aren’t going to be able to survive harsh winters or thrive in warm conditions. Therefore, do your research before you set out on a landscaping project!
