What are some ways to decorate a farmhouse for fall?
If you want a cozy fall, then it’s essential that you embrace all the fall colors and pumpkin decor. However, it’s challenging when you want to take it a step further and go for that farmhouse home decor style. Luckily, modern farmhouse decor suits any season – so let’s take a look at some of our favorite tips for fall decorating.
Firstly, you definitely want to hang a fall wreath. Not only does this scream farmhouse style, it will also accentuate your front door. You can DIY one – think of a wreath strung with pine cones, acorns, and lots of greenery. Or, you can go out and purchase one with natural elements.
Secondly, spice up your farmhouse decor ideas by making it your own! You can spruce up your living room by adding a DIY table centerpiece. Personally, I love incorporating mason jars into my table decor.
Thirdly, go all out on your fall porch look! Check out our favorite fall front porch decor ideas here. If you’re a lover of seasonal decor like me, then I know you’re excited to go all out on your outdoor space. Personally, I love incorporating succulents along with some faux pumpkins…it gets people ready to step into my entryway!
Lastly, if you’re a lover of all things wall decor – then hang up some seasonal art! Some love incorporating throw pillows while others love a burlap outlined natural wood art piece. Or – hang something scary for Halloween – the options are endless!
What are the most popular colors for farmhouse fall decor?
So, let’s talk colors! I feel like every year fall farmhouse decor colors are changing – one year it’s natural tones, while others incorporate bright yellows and oranges. This year, the best bloggers around are going with light blues and muted teals. Whether you’re sprucing up your fall centerpiece, making an outdoor pumpkin patch, or decorating your fall mantel – soft blues and teals make a great accent color.
If you’re not too sure of how to change your color scheme – start small! For instance – I always have a fall dinner party, which requires getting my dining room and dining room table alllll set up. If I want to incorporate a new color scheme – I’ll usually start out by playing with the napkin color. Think about it – you can totally put some soft blue napkins down that will accentuate your warmer/more natural colors!
When can you decorate for fall?
This all depends on what you feel is best. Some people like to start decorating in August and take it down in October. Others, however – like to decorate end of September until the holiday season. Personally, I fall in the middle of these two likings. I like to get my decor up middle of September and typically leave it up until mid-November. I love the holidays, but am not one for decorating prematurely. But again – it all depends on what you are going for – and let’s be real, how much time you actually have on your hands to decorate!
