This week has been chaotic and I’m finally feeling prepared for whatever lies ahead. If you’re reading this past March 2020 and wondering what I’m talking about, this is the week that the nation announced the great Coronavirus pandemic of 2020. It’s unlikely I’ll remember to re-write this post later on, so this will hopefully put this post in context for you. Regardless, we’re feeling prepared for whatever may or may not hit our area and one of the things that I know a lot of moms like me are thinking is how to make new and fresh meals with items you already have on your shelves most likely. When we first started hearing about coronavirus in China, I did a little preemptive preparation and bought some extra canned goods and frozen items so that we would be prepared. One of the things I really always keep on hand is beef, chili beans, and taco seasoning. It’s so easy to make chili or tacos when all else fails, right? So today I want to show you how to make these super delicious and ridiculously easy 3-Ingredient Chili Colorado Burritos. They will feed your whole family and they pack a ton of flavor.
3-Ingredient Chili Colorado Burritos
All you need for this recipe is one pound of ground beef, cooked, a can of mild chili beans in sauce, and a packet of taco seasoning. You brown your meat and drain it, then dump in the chili beans in sauce (don’t drain the sauce), and add a packet of taco seasoning and the water amount suggested on the packet. Let cook for a few minutes then you can serve them on flour tortillas with cheese, sour cream, and we like to add hot sauce (optional).
Can you freeze the burritos?
If you have leftovers, and depending on the size of the family you will, you can either freeze the meat, or roll what’s remaining into burritos and freeze the burritos for a later time. We typically just eat our leftovers for lunch the next day or freeze it for a meal the week after.
I love this recipe because it’s a one-pan meal that can be made in about 20 minutes, feeds a ton of people, has loads of flavor, and is easy to clean up quickly. In upcoming weeks as we all undoubtedly will be cooking more in our homes, it’s always nice to have quick meal options available!

3 Ingredient Chili Colorado Burritos
- 1 lb beef, cooked and drained
- 1 can chili means in sauce
- 1 packet taco seasoning (we use Taco Bell)
- In a pan, brown the beef until cooked and then drain away excess fat.
- Add in one can of chili beans in sauce (do not drain the chili sauce). It's important to use CHILI beans, not red beans or kidney beans. Add in one packet of taco seasoning and water as directed on package.
- Cook meat with beans and seasoning for about 10 minutes then serve over tortillas with cheese and sour cream and any other toppings.
