It’s 85 degrees here today…my kids are outside playing, husband is mowing the lawn…it’s the perfect spring day and what better way to enjoy the day with some fresh fruit and homemade whipped cream. Have you ever made your own whipped cream before? I just started and I’m a true believer. It takes only a few minutes and is so simple to make. And there is something so much more delicious about homemade whipped cream than the store bought stuff or *gasp* Cool Whip! And this homemade whipped cream has a total of three ingredients…so no chemicals or preservatives. Let’s see how easy….
Ingredients:
1 pint whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
How to:
Pour your whipping cream into a bowl and with a mixer on medium speed start beating the cream. You’ll notice after a few minutes the consistency will get thicker.
About 3-4 minutes into mixing, pause the mixer and add 1/2 cup of sugar and a splash of vanilla. Then turn your mixer onto high and mix for another 3-5 minutes until you have the desired consistency. You’ll see it starting to hold form.
Slice up some strawberries, top with a little sugar, and serve berries and fresh whipped cream in a bowl!
This makes for such an easy and delicious dessert. Park your kids outside with a small bowl of strawberries and whipped cream and you’ll have some very happy campers!
Enjoy your spring and upcoming summers!
