With Christmas coming up, today I thought I’d share with you a fun and easy Christmas Tree Pancake Brunch idea. When Christmas is finally here and I’m home off work with my kids, it’s always fun to plan something special to get them excited for Christmas. With the help of delicious pancake mixes and syrup, I was able to easily create a delicious Christmas brunch idea (a tad early for blogging purposes) and celebrate the season!! Check out what I did!
I made my pancakes using Aunt Jemima’s original pancake mix and making two batches of it using the recipe on the back (including eggs, water, and oil). Then to that mixture I added 5-7 drops of green food coloring to color the pancakes a light green to resemble Christmas trees. I cooked each pancake on medium heat until it bubbled on the top side, then flipped it and let cook until I was sure it was done (each pancake should take about 4-5 minutes).
After the batter was made, I pulled five different circular cookie cutters that I had. I poured the batter into the skillet, then after it was cooked, I used the cookie cutters to layer the pancakes in a way to resemble a Christmas tree.
Once I layered them, I used a little bit of white icing and sprinkles to “decorate” my tree. If your kids are old enough, you could set up your own icing and sprinkles to let them decorate their OWN Christmas tree pancakes, then top it off with delicious maple syrup to make it extra perfect!
Once I was done, I set up my spread. I served my Christmas tree pancake with some powdered donuts in cute red cups, along with pineapples and red strawberry cream cheese dip. Then I found miniature cocoa cups and filled them with chocolate mouse and little snowflake toppers and mini spoons (a little sweet treat for brunch isn’t going to hurt anyone, right?!). Finally, I found the most ADORABLE snowman pitcher that I filled with milk…I seriously am smitten with that drink pitcher!!
