What is a holiday cocktail?
A holiday cocktail is a delicious concoction that you can serve at your holiday party, Christmas dinner or simply sip by the fire on a chilly December night. Often times, eggnog, hot buttered rum, mulled wine and bowls of wassail are traditional Christmas cocktails. Forget the boring ginger beer, this year it’s time to take on the holiday season with fun, trending cocktails!
What does a White Russian drink look like?
Surprisingly, a classic White Russian is pretty easy to make (and even easier to drink, for some). If you’re a fan of a harder cocktail perfect for your Christmas party, read on!
Ingredients needed:
2 oz of Vodka
1 oz Kahlua
1 tsp Heavy Whipping Cream
Ice
Firstly, grab a glass and fill it with ice.
Secondly, pick a decadent vodka and add two ounces of vodka to the glass.
Thirdly, pour one ounce of Kahlua into the glass with the vodka.
Fourthly, top with about one splash of heavy cream (or whatever amount satisfies you).
And there you have it! An easy crowd pleaser that will get your guests giggly and dancing on the tables!
What are the ingredients in a cosmopolitan?
For the longest time, I feared of ordering a cosmopolitan because it just sounded so…shi-shi. I mean, I thought only royalty drank cosmopolitans, not your average joe. Turns out, I was wrong. Cosmopolitans are a super popular cocktail (and a heck of a good one at that)!
Ingredients needed:
2 oz of Citron Vodka
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz Cranberry Juice Cocktail
.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Crushed Ice
Orange Peel
Firstly, add the vodka, fresh lime juice and the cranberry juice to a cocktail shaker already filled with ice.
Secondly, shake that baby until it’s extremely cold.
Thirdly, strain the shaker into a martini glass (I prefer mine chilled) and throw some crushed ice in there.
Lastly, put the orange peel on the side of the glass to show your guests just how classy you really are 🙂
Is there a recipe for a cranberry lime mojito?
Forget the assumption that a mojito is purely a summer drink. Because, well, you’re wrong. I was at a holiday work party a few years ago and tried a cranberry lime mojito and since that day, I haven’t gone back. Forget the peppermint schnapps, a mojito is my kind of holiday drink.
**this recipe will make 4 mojitos**
Ingredients needed:
Cranberry Syrup:
1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
1 Cup Fresh Strawberries
Cranberry Lime Mojito:
14 Sprigs of Mint
3 Tablespoons Lime Juice
8 oz of Light Rum
24 oz Sparkling Water
For the Cranberry Syrup:
Firstly, head up a small saucepan. Once heated, mix the sugar, water and fresh cranberries and simmer over low heat for about 4-5 minutes.
For the Mojito:
Firstly, muddle the mint and lime juice together and pour evenly into 4 glasses.
Secondly, pour the cranberry syrup from the pan into each glass.
Thirdly, pour 2 oz of rum into each glass
Lastly, top with sparkling water and throw in some crushed ice (or ice cubes). And TA-DA!
