An Affordable Way to Update a Room with Casablanca Fans

I’m not made of money and I’m assuming you’re not either, so when it comes to updating my house…every little penny counts and everything I can do to carefully plan out a room update is important. For our bedroom reveal (still in progress) that I showed last week, of course it’s easy enough to update the obvious things…bedding, decor, and sometimes even paint choices (although I was happy with our paint colors and that didn’t change for us). But what about the less obvious things? Things like, the ceiling fan, for example? Our room had a plain white ceiling fan…no light on it. There was no way to walk into the room and flip and switch and turn on a light. So today I’m showing you a quick and affordable way to update a room!

Here’s what we started out with:

Plain white, no light, old fashioned fan. Did it spin and cool a room? Yes. Was it in ANY way stylish or add a design aesthetic to the room? Not at all. The fan is one of the overlooked pieces to a room sometimes I think because it’s not always in plain site. But we QUICKLY realized what a big change a simple fan update would make for our bedroom!

I worked with Casablanca Fans to choose the perfect new fan for our bedroom and now…WOW! It’s a show stopper. Our fan is more part of our room design than an eyesore like before. We went with the 54″ Stealth Fan from Casablanca...which was the perfect fit for our room. We liked it for the dark wood finish that has a little bit of weathering to it and especially appreciated the light. It has a very modern and unique design and just really fits the room nicely.

The light has been one of the best parts of this fan…it’s controlled by a remote control inserted into your switch at the entry to the room and the fan has four different speeds that you can control from the switch, along with the light.

Overall, this simple update that took little time to install was SO worth it. Installation instructions were included and were easy to follow. It took my husband and my dad working together to get it all done and hung and after this, I’m already looking to update the other ceiling fans in our house!!

So now with our bedroom update and the fan update, we’re moving and shaking with getting our room into tip top shape!
