Another homemade gift I made this year was a cone bookpage wreath for my mother.
If you recall, earlier this year I made a bookpage wreath for myself that I vowed to never make again. It took me nearly 4 months of on and off work to complete and over 565 pages of rosettes, so it truly was a labor of love–that I will never. EVER. MAKE. AGAIN. {I’ll be honest…even though I’m a self titled “crafter” I am extremely impatient and don’t enjoy crafts that take loads of time to complete…so the fact that this project took me several months to finish is what holds me back from doing it again. If you are a patient person that enjoys tedious work–you’ll enjoy this š I don’t want to discourage ANYONE from making this…it’s just that I’m VERY impatient}.
I used an actual foam wreath form (she made one) and mine is a lot bigger and fuller than hers because of that I think. I ended up using about 150 bookpages and probably 75 scrapbook pages–no worries, no “good” books were harmed in theĀ making of this wreath–only 1980’s books that were about to be tossed by my coworker. Everything else on this project I did the same asĀ Corner HouseĀ and I love how it turned out.Ā
You know, this is so nice to give as a gift thanking a library for all their programs and such. Since this one isn’t that time consuming, you’ve inspired me to make one for our library. I hope they like it?
It’s gorgeous!
I like your wreath very much. The pops of color are a nice touch!
I love the color and the look of this wreath. I’ve done the rolled paper flowers before…if, for some reason, you ever decide on trying another…maybe do a smaller one? Another thing I do is use several sheets of paper at once go make the flowers larger, so it doesn’t take as many to fill up the wreath.
Lovely. I love the pops of color throughout!
It looks So good. I love it and you can’t ever have too many book page wreaths. š Thanks for the shout out.
