This post is sponsored by World Market, but all thoughts, words and opinions are my own.
One of my FAVE places to head for a “mom break” happens to be World Market. It’s safe to say that about 1/2 my home decor comes from them (more on that soon…). So when I headed in a few weeks ago and saw all their gorgeous new Christmas decor out…I couldn’t help myself! I have a new house to decorate and new spaces, so my wheels started turning and I planned out a new Christmas vignette for my living room. I like to call it my “Traditional Christmas Vignette with a Rustic Twist”. It’s a nice mix of the traditional reds and greens and old fashioned patterns with a twist of rustic modern. Check it out and see the links in bold throughout the post for the products I used.
You see…you’re not going to look at my house and feel like you’re flipping through the pages of a magazine. I’m sorry, you’re just not. Our house is newly moved into and we’re still getting situated and at the end of the day…it’s ok if it’s not BHG-worthy. It’s what matters to you and fits YOUR style. For me, I like a cozy look. I like to walk into my living room and feel warm and fuzzy and I select decor to help create that feeling. While it’s not for everyone, the “traditional Christmas” decor won’t ever go out of style. You won’t be dropping hundreds annually trying to stay on trend because red and green for Christmas won’t ever go out of style. So check out what I did here…
Last week I bought these amazing rustic, farmhouse looking crates for the center area of my credenza. I also purchased the wood ladder (on the right) to hold my blankets, like the champagne cable knit throw you see in the photo. Since we’re going for a farmhouse, rustic look in the new house…these items were perfect for our every day decor and I used them for my holiday decor, as well.
On the bottom you can see the greenery I already had, as well as an awesome teal desk clock I got from World Market this fall. I picked up the Jessica basket on the right, along with that fun bicycle owl pillow for a nice little Christmasy touch.
I decided to use the gold stag head as a cute little scarf holder…I love how useful and pretty he is!!
I couldn’t pass up that gorgeous driftwood nativity set. I knew my husband would love it too and I was right. It’s right up our alley with the natural elements and look. It’s so peaceful and brings in a subtle reminder of the real meaning of Christmas that sometimes people forget. That’s important to us.
One of my FAVORITE finds was this adorable JOY Marquee Sign. I just adore it and at night it lights up so gorgeous. It ties in a great industrial look into the decor. It’s kind of awesome. Bravo to World Market for hopping on the marquee light trend!
These gorgeous Christmas trees really caught my eye too along with the stag head wooden tray and the adorable reindeer. The two white sparkle trees paired so nicely with the white bottlebush tree I just couldn’t pass up. I thought the nice little trio of trees would create some height to my decor. The whole setup has a very natural and neutral look to it that I really like.
And at night…the whole thing looks amazing. With my stockings hung above the whole set up (stockings right to left: geo snowflake stocking, tree knit stocking, snowflake red stocking). And hung behind the stockings are a fun set of wooden snowflakes in the form of a garland.
So after you get your holiday stuff set up in the upcoming weeks…make yourself a warm cup of cocoa, add an adorable little gingerbread man on the side, sit back and relish in your Christmas glory, my friends. No matter how off the hook or simple it is, it’s what makes YOU happy and makes your family feel more merry for the holiday.
Great article. Thnak you for sharing.
