Let’s face it, it can be hard to keep up with changing out your home decor to match the season, or occasion, or however you operate in your house. Personally, I love getting out the winter wonderland decor (yes, I’m that person that decorates before Thanksgiving) – and who knows, maybe you are too! Either way, I’ve put together my favorite winter wonderland decor ideas so you can enjoy a white Christmas from the comfort of your own living room.

How do you decorate a room like winter wonderland?
I mean first, you need a vision. What does a winter wonderland theme look like in your mind?
Personally, I would start with the small touches – really anything that remind you of the holiday season. You can easy DIY your own paper snowflakes, attach small string lights/twinkle lights to your candle holders on your tablescape, or even add trinkets – such as little snowmen or winter pinecones.
Additionally, I always love to add a touch of warmth to my decor. Remember, you’re going to be looking at this stuff all season long – it’s not just for a winter wonderland party – so make sure the decorations give off cozy vibes. I like adding in faux fur blankets to my living room decor – it brings the mood up.
How do I make my yard look like winter wonderland?
Ooooo, so you want to bring the Christmas decor OUTSIDE – nice! Let’s talk some trending ideas you can incorporate. First – what’s the occasion? Do you just want to amp up or curb appeal or are you hosting a winter wedding in your backyard? Maybe you’re throwing a raging winter wonderland gathering – so you need all the party decor out there.
Whatever the reason may be – you can start with hanging holiday decor throughout the yard. I like stringing garland along fences and overhangs – and a feet or two apart supplementing with Christmas wreaths on the fence posts. Afterwards, I’ll hang Christmas lights on the fence.
If you really need some good party ideas – head to Home Depot and get some inflatable Santas to amp up that entryway. Or – if you have a large natural tree outside, you can string some lights and do some legit Christmas tree decorating – maybe if it’s cold out you’ll get some actual icicles!
If you don’t live in a place where it snows – you can always blow fake snow! When I lived in California, I would always do this before hosting a holiday party – guests really love the all-out winter wonderland Christmas decor. It reminds people of something straight out of a fairytale!
