How do you decorate large walls?
Believe it or not, you don’t necessarily need to incorporate a piece of art onto your empty wall. There are a few other accessories that you could incorporate instead.
Firstly, think about putting in a leaning mirror. Personally, I love large mirrors – they give off a great modern, luxe vibe. I mean how can you complain when you’re your own focal point in the entryway?!
Secondly, floating shelves are another alternative that will brighten up your living room wall decor. They definitely make for a great built-in focal point.
Thirdly, a hanging rug is a great way to add texture or accentuate your color palette. A hanging rug can make a small space feel much bigger – or is a great option for a family room with an empty, large living room wall.
Lastly, with large blank walls think about some fun accessories. If you’re designing a more low-key room, incorporate a chalkboard onto your bare wall. Or – add a large console table or tall bookshelf to accentuate the big wall’s height. Heck – even add some greenery or wall sconces!
How can I cover a large wall for cheap?
You can DIY a lot of the ideas above – or you can invest in some low-cost home decor that will look great on your accent wall. If you’re artistic – think about hand-painting your gallery wall with some fun designs or colors! This is a great way to do a fun art piece makeover.
Or – if you’re on a budget, think about incorporating some picture frames with family photos. I’ve found that canvas prints are often fairly inexpensive on Minted or Shutterfly. They’re a great decorating tip that will quickly fill-up your large wall space!
