My mom and I were teasing each other the other day about that fact that as adults, we typically buy what we need. Gone are the days of long, extensive Christmas lists and most of what we “want” includes expensive home items, vacations, and things we’d already buy ourselves. So if you’re in a pickle this Christmas and aren’t sure what to do for your family, something fun to consider is a White Elephant Gift Exchange! White Elephant Gifts are cute, silly, strange, or funny little gifts that you gift to another person as part of a game. Typically, there is a small dollar amount limit put on the gifts like $10-$15 and it’s a fun way to exchange gifts and have a laugh! So this year I decided that for my family, I’d choose 12 White Elephant Christmas gifts, wrap them up, and do a family White Elephant Gift Exchange as a surprise. There are six adults on Christmas together, so we’ll each get two gifts…and I’ll draw last since I know what they all are 😉
For my exchange, I started by buying a pretty red basket and some basket filling so that my gifts would have a pretty display. Then I picked out 12 gifts and wrapped them each with some wrapping paper.
