This weekend a few girl friends of mine stopped by and we painted some glass together over apps and desserts…I always love getting some ladies together to craft with me and use up my enormous supply of glass paint! I had this $2.99 bowl from Ikea I bought a few months ago, so I decided to turn it into a Halloween Candy Bowl for trick or treat night!
It’s SO simple to make!
What you need:
Clear Bowl
Martha Stewart Adhesive Stencils (holiday edition)
Black Glass Paint
Paint brushes
You’ll need to start by washing your bowl or dish first in warm soapy water.
Then take the Martha Stewart stencils and stencil your spiders randomly throughout the dish and follow up with little black dotted lines between them…or you could even do spiderwebs.
After the black metallic paint was dry, I went back and drew little red, green, and purple dots on their backs to add some color to the dish…which isn’t showing up too well in the photo.
After you’re done you bake your dish in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Put the dish in when the oven is cold, let it bake 30 minutes, then turn oven off and let it sit in there until completely cool. Let cure for about 72 hours before using and then you can wash on the top rack of your dishwasher.
Just a quick note for tonight…I procured a new sponsor and giveaway over at DimplePrints a few weeks ago and just started reading her blog. She made this cute Holy Week printable that was so true… I don’t have any good place to use it except for here, but it definitely sums up how I…

So a few weeks ago I saw this picture on Polka Dot Market’s Facebook page. This wreath is so cute and really caught my eye and the woman who made it did an excellent tutorial on how she did it. So I decided to give it a shot and make my own. If you haven’t…

8/9/11 UPDATE: Check out the FINISHED Smile Canvas artwork HERE at the bottom. Also…some new progress on the craft room/mom cave. When my son was born, Uncle Kracker’s, “Smile”, had just come out and I loved the lyrics to it. The song really summed up how my little boy made me feel and to this…
This is so cute!
I love it! I am addicted to glass painting!
