I don’t think I told you guys this yet, but the owner of my son’s daycare asked me a few weeks ago if I’d plan her company Christmas party for her! I’ve mentioned in the past how much I’d love to be an event planner and she just recently had a new baby, so I think with that and the holidays and her busy work schedule that she needed some extra help to make a special party for her staff. So I’ve been spend a LOT of time trying to come up with ideas for the event and this week… Read More
As you all know, this year is the first year I’m hosting Thanksgiving at my house. When we first made the decision to have it here, I realized one big problem…my current kitchen table only seats four people and we have six adults and one child eating here. So I started my quest to find the perfect table by searching Craigslist because no self respecting blogger would just go out and BUY a table, right??? 😉 Maybe I should rephrase that as no self respecting poor blogger would just go out and buy a new table, right? I wanted to… Read More
So I called up my aunt, who’s the authority on homemade pie making, and got a really good basic apple pie recipe from her. But apple pie, well, as much as I LOVE apple pie, I wanted to spruce it up a bit and add my own take on it. So here begins the birth of the Carmel Crumble Homemade Apple Pie!! I would like to preface this post with this little tidbit…I did not INTEND for the above photo to be my pie beauty shot, but, well, life happens and five minutes after intragramming this little photo…I dropped my… Read More
Do you guys ever have those projects that are just lingering to the point of no end? My craft room last year seemed like one of those, but I can definitely replace that now with our GIANT project of re-staining our backyard fence with Flood Semi-Transparent Stain… In July we were offered the opportunity to try our Flood’s Fence and Deck Stain to try out on our fence. This task didn’t seem as monumental at the time as it does now, so we started off and immediately loved the results! I’ll let the pictures do justice to just how great… Read More
It’s raining, cold, and windy here, but that didn’t stop by two superheros, Buzz and Woody, from going out trick or treating! Hope you all have a safe and spooky Halloween! Notice our un-carved pumpkins? That’s a result of Halloween and Andrew’s birthday all in one week and my husband’s 35th birthday tomorrow! He’s a layered little Woody…the nice thing about jumpsuit costumes.
First off…Happy Birthday to my little baby boy, Andrew. Not so much a baby…three years old (or “tree” as he’d say). Today is over and my son’s Toy Story birthday party is in the books. This year I did MUCH lower key than his Candy Corn Birthday Party from last year, but I still tried to add several special touches for the event. I LOVE party planning, but I gotta admit that sometimes it’s fun to just have immediate family and a few close friends to celebrate. And I think this was, by far, my most favorite birthday to date… Read More
My best friend lives in Arizona and our birthday’s are literally one month apart. We both turned 30 this year, so I wanted to make her something special and handmade for the day. I have these cute frames I got from Poppyseed Projects when I was at SNAP back in April, so I decided to make her a birthday frame for her fridge and put it in a basket with some other goodies. Here’s what you need to make this: Aleene’s Max Tacky Adhesive Glue or other Aleene’s Glues and Adhesives Poppy Seed Projects Frame Paint (I used Annie Sloan… Read More
This weekend a few girl friends of mine stopped by and we painted some glass together over apps and desserts…I always love getting some ladies together to craft with me and use up my enormous supply of glass paint! I had this $2.99 bowl from Ikea I bought a few months ago, so I decided to turn it into a Halloween Candy Bowl for trick or treat night! It’s SO simple to make! What you need: Clear Bowl Martha Stewart Adhesive Stencils (holiday edition) Black Glass Paint Paint brushes You’ll need to start by washing your bowl or dish first… Read More
