What kind of artwork is good for a bathroom?
Bathroom wall art – what a hard choice! There are so many options out there – canvas prints, art prints, black and white minimalist designs, even funny bathroom wall art.
Basically, you can’t really go wrong with whatever type of bathroom artwork you choose. However, there are a few tips to follow before buying a bunch of prints.
Firstly, you want to find art that will be able to withstand moist and humid environments. Remember – this is a bath…room! Basically, keep the unframed prints in the living room!
Secondly, going off of our above point – you want to find art that is professionally framed. You can DIY the frame if you trust yourself – but again, you want to make sure your art won’t be susceptible to mildew or warp.
Thirdly, photographs and prints (framed of course) are often best. If you want to get funky and incorporate ceramic or sculpture pieces – go for it! They’ll do well in a powder room. However, you want to stray away from acrylic or oil paintings as they’re more likely to take on excess moisture.
Can you put prints in a bathroom?
Yes, you incorporate prints into your bathroom home decor. I would suggest that you frame your gallery wall as to not get moisture inside of the art. Something like a framed canvas would work great.
However, some professionals say you can keep unframed bathroom art prints so long as you keep steam buildup to a minimum. If you’re really set on using unframed fine art, make sure to use your exhaust fan and open the windows as much as possible to allow the artwork to breathe.
