This weekend a few girl friends of mine stopped by and we painted some glass together over apps and desserts…I always love getting some ladies together to craft with me and use up my enormous supply of glass paint! I had this $2.99 bowl from Ikea I bought a few months ago, so I decided to turn it into a Halloween Candy Bowl for trick or treat night!
It’s SO simple to make!
What you need:
Clear Bowl
Martha Stewart Adhesive Stencils (holiday edition)
Black Glass Paint
Paint brushes
You’ll need to start by washing your bowl or dish first in warm soapy water.
Then take the Martha Stewart stencils and stencil your spiders randomly throughout the dish and follow up with little black dotted lines between them…or you could even do spiderwebs.
After the black metallic paint was dry, I went back and drew little red, green, and purple dots on their backs to add some color to the dish…which isn’t showing up too well in the photo.
After you’re done you bake your dish in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Put the dish in when the oven is cold, let it bake 30 minutes, then turn oven off and let it sit in there until completely cool. Let cure for about 72 hours before using and then you can wash on the top rack of your dishwasher.

This was a post I did last year for Craft-O-Maniac that never made it on my own blog! Here’s my spring wreath from 2012! I’m currently working on my new 2013 wreath, but in the meantime enjoy! I thought I’d start spring off right by making a “Spring Has Sprung” wreath for my front door!…
When my daughter turned one, I tried to DIY all the party decorations for my little girl’s first birthday party. The theme was confetti and the colors were pink, mint, teal, and gold…so I decided to make a paper rosette birthday backdrop for the dessert table. Since we are having the party at another location,…
This is the first year that my son has been at daycare over Valentine’s Day, so I was super excited when they announced that they do exchange Valentine’s and they do a little party, as well that day. For any crafty momma, that starts the old wheels a spinning on what I could do to…
As I sit here now, watching the snow continue to blow, I can’t help but be excited for SPRING, which I believe is right around the corner (you wouldn’t know it to look outside)! We have lots of things to look forward to in spring time and most happily for me as a blogger is…
This is so cute!
I love it! I am addicted to glass painting!
