Mason Jar Graduation Hat Gift Idea and Free Print

Do you have any graduates you’re celebrating this year? Mason jars are so popular right now, so I teamed up with my friend Carli at DimplePrints to create this Mason Jar Graduation Hat Gift Idea and Free Print. You can stop by DimplePrints for the download!

This is SUCH an easy gift idea! Simply fill a mason jar with your favorite treat idea…M&M’s, Hershey Kisses, or your grad’s favorite candy. You could even get creative and buy M&M’s from the party store in his or her school colors…use your creativity. But for this tutorial I just used silver kisses and put them into a mason jar.

From there I downloaded Carli’s free grad hat prints and cut them out.

There’s an all black outside and an inside in glittery gold and silver that says “Hats Off to You Grad”. There’s also a variety of tassels in different colors. I cut out the two long rectangles and then I folded on the white lines. The rectangle with the wording goes on the inside like a card and it’s folded onto each other in thirds. The solid black is the outside that’s folded into thirds and what will look like the graduation hat.

When it’s folded up and opened you’ll see that there’s a space for a gift card…then you can fold it up on top of each other, add a tassel and some tape and create a cute little grad cap gift.

I added a yellow tassel to the top and then I added a little black and white polka dot ribbon around the lid of the jar. There are tons of tassel colors to choose from to match your grad’s school colors.

I added the tape to the sides so that people couldn’t easily pull the gift card out if it was left in a pile of gifts (you never know!).
