I was provided free product for this post, but all thoughts, words, and opinions are my own.

At the start of last summer, my husband and I had grand plans to makeover our master bathroom, but when we decided to put our house up for sale, that got put aside. I’d already purchased some gorgeous tile from Floor and Decor, so I wasn’t sure what to do…scrap the whole thing and return it? Then it dawned on me…my parents are in the process of building a home themselves, while living in it!! It’s about 1/2 finished as they are slowing getting bathrooms and the kitchen together, so they took the tile we selected and got to work on updating their master bathroom. Today I want to show you how you can AFFORDABLY do a Bathroom Shower Update with the help of Floor and Decor and their AMAZING selection of tiles for great prices.
The house is a new build, so it started like all new builds do…seen below.
The great thing about Floor and Decor is that they have a HUGE selection of tile in store (along with flooring and more) and they have everything you need to install it too. We were able to pick up all the grout tile and necessities to complete the project there. They have a staff member available for you to schedule an appointment with to help you choose tiles and how much you need for your project. They even pulled samples for me on suggestions for the bath.
Ultimately, we ended up picking a real simple marble tile with grays, white, and soft blue undertones to it. They were all different, so you have to pull them out of the box and make sure that you’re picking a wide selection of colors as you work up the wall.
The tiling process was tedious and each tile had to be carefully spaced out. This definitely was the rougher part of the job and it took a few weeks to get everything together…unless you aren’t short on time, this project may take a bit. We ended up having to go back to Floor and Decor a few times to get more supplies.
After months of tiling, grouting, and finishing the hardware in the bathroom…here’s how it ended up.
Isn’t it SO gorgeous!!
The tile went up to the ceiling, which I highly recommend, and the fixtures in the shower look so classy and compliment the grays in the tile amazingly.
One thing we did notice is that when we went back for more tile (seen at the top), the new tiles were much more patterned than some of the earlier boxes. I’d really suggest trying to buy them all at once so that you can space the patterned vs. plain ones out more. If you look real closely, you’ll see the top is much busier, but I bet you wouldn’t notice that if I didn’t tell you! So just a little tip…try to buy all the tile at once and sort them according to how simple and how patterned they are.
I can’t WAIT to see how this whole room comes together. If the shower is any indication, it’s going to be quite the MASTER bath!! Stick with me as we journey more into this bathroom update!!
If you’re in the market for bathroom tiles, kitchen backsplash, glass tile, flooring and more…you MUST check out Floor and Decor. I’m already eyeing tile for my backsplash in the kitchen and with their prices and help, I know that I can do much better than your typical home improvement store.

Thanks, Abbey. Can you tell me the cost of this shower update?
Hi George, I don’t recall the exact amount, but somewhere around $750-$1000 for the all the tile and grout.
Wow, these tiles are so beautiful! I’ve always liked the look of this marble-esque tiling, and I think it really spruces up a space. This shower looks great! Thanks for sharing your update!
