You may remember a few years ago when we completely redid our LAUNDRY ROOM with new countertops and cabinets, a new utility sink and more. The one thing we didn’t do then was add any sort of backsplash behind the sink. The space is not very well lit and has no natural lighting, so I really wanted to brighten up the space in any way I could, so I decided I wanted to add a white hexagon backsplash to the space. The problem is that I didn’t want to invest a ton of money in the update or spend too much time tiling and grouting the space, so I enlisted in the help of SmartTiles to make my backsplash adventure easier than ever. I’ll show you how I added this easy laundry room backsplash in just a few hours! This is a frugal and affordable backsplash idea that is perfect for people who don’t want to put a ton of money or time into backsplash, but want to achieve the look.
Let’s start with what we started with when we moved in….
Affordable Backsplash Idea with Smart Tiles
We had those awesome 1980’s cabinets with dark tan walls and a dirty old wash basin and no countertop or storage space. So we ripped it all out and got it to look like this…
And it’s pretty much looked like that for a while until this year when we finally installed our White Hexagon Smart Tiles in the space. Smart Tiles are an inexpensive backsplash tile idea that can be installed in just a few hours. No grout needed. You simply need a level and a box cutters for the job. You literally just peel and stick this tile down the length of your space, making cuts where needed.
My husband and I were able to knock out this project in about two hours time and used about 30-40 tiles for the project. So think about if you had to get 30-50 pieces of actual tile, plus grout, plus labor and all the money you just saved while achieving the look you want!
We didn’t have too many things to cut around, but when we did, we found it fairly simple to cut and place around our objects in the way. We also went back and filled in the gaps on the edges with tiles after we finished.
I love how the white hexagon tile brightens up the space and really makes it look finished.
Smart Tiles makes it easy for you to determine how many tiles you need and they provide you with great installation tips and a guide to make your installation quick and easy.
I wholeheartedly love how my laundry room backsplash project turned out…if you’re in the market for inexpensive backsplash ideas then I think this is exactly what you need!
