Rain Shower Baby Shower {Gender Neutral Shower}

rain shower baby shower idea

I propped a cupcake tower underneath the umbrella, but on a crate, for another fun element to the table.

On the table we served three different types of cupcakes (snickerdoodle, almond vanilla, and chocolate raspberry). We also served mason jar cake pops from Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins for another fun dessert. Finally, we bagged up a mini cloud and raindrop for each guest to take home as a favor. Salsa Sweets provided the cookies for the shower, which were equally as pretty as they were delicious!!

I had a “Mom to Be” and “Big Sis to Be” cookie made up for our two guests of honor…they were bigger than the favor cookies and double layered with a matching mini cloud on them.

There was no shortage of yummy treats for the guests!

Each dessert was labeled with a custom made raindrop or cloud frame from Cut It Out Already frames.

shower food

For the food, we tried to keep it light, simple, and easy. We served mini ham and cheese and turkey and cheese sandwiches, fruit salad, veggies and dip, pasta salad, and baked brie chutney for the guests for starters.

We also served water, iced tea, and a fruit juice mimosa bar…

On the mimosa bar we served Peach Mango juice, Pomegranate Juice, and Orange Juice with Prosecco and Sparkling Grape Juice. We included strawberries and raspberries, as well, for guests to put in the plastic champagne glasses we purchased.

We used some simple white flowers and a gray cloud frame with custom DimplePrints print for a table centerpiece outside on the screened in porch. Her porch, by the way, was the PERFECT place for this shower. It had a gorgeous light blue beamed ceiling and a large white brick wall…it was like it was made for this shower!

baby shower setup

The living room was shower central with a cute diaper cake made by one of the guests. We also set up a diaper decorating station (that I forgot to get a picture of), as well as a “well wishes for baby” station. For shower games we played Baby Shower Bingo, Madlibs, and the game where you melt chocolate into diapers and guests have to guess which candy is in each diaper…some people enjoy that game and others think it’s disgusting. I personally think it’s super fun and funny.

baby shower favors

For shower game gifts, I purchased four small succulents, painted mini mason jars with blue chalk paint, and added some polka dot washi tape around the rims. Then I used a paper straw and tag from DimplePrints to tie the shower theme in. I thought this was a fun little twist on the shower game gift idea…

Guests left with the raindrop and mini cloud cookies with a matching tag on top as favors.

Overall, I had SO much fun planning this shower. It’s been a while since I’ve done any parties and this is probably one of my most favorite parties to date.

  1. What a beautiful party. I am from the Pacific Northwest and partial to rain so the idea of a “rain shower” party is so cute. Well we are awaiting the birth of our second grandchild and I will have a shower for my daughter later this fall. These are some great ideas. Thanks for sharing.
