Fish Bowl Valentine

This is the first year that my son has been at daycare over Valentine’s Day, so I was super excited when they announced that they do exchange Valentine’s and they do a little party, as well that day. For any crafty momma, that starts the old wheels a spinning on what I could do to make a unique Valentine. Here’s an easy Fish Bowl  Valentine printable idea!

A few weeks ago I did a Valentine project for DimplePrints and we designed 6 Valentine’s for download on our site, but I really wanted to do another different one for my son’s party. Then I saw this cute little idea and copied it (gasp!) with the help of Carli at DimplePrints (seriously, she’s the best…she’s always doing stuff like this for me and I can’t thank her enough).

Here’s what you need to make this Valentine:
Fish Bowl printouts
Plastic Cellophane bags at least 5 inches wide (Target)
Swedish Fish
Ribbon
Scissors

From there, I just assembled them by putting about 8 Swedish Fish in the baggy. Tying it around the top with a twist tie, then a red ribbon over it. And here’s the finished product.

I’m really pleased with how they came out and I think it’s a fun way to make a handmade Valentine that isn’t too lovey dovey and perfect for toddlers in a daycare. Tomorrow I’ll be showing off the little treat I made for the class party.

Hope your weekend is going well and don’t forget to sign up for the $25 ErinCondren.com gift card up for grabs until the 13th!

  1. Very cute! I wonder if the candies would be ok after a few hours of sitting in blue food-dyed water in the bag, as if they were fishies being brought home from the store? 🙂
Cute little writing in there too! 😀
