My son is only in preschool, so I decided it may be fun to make a little preschool back to school wreath with a little chalkboard on it. This wreath was so simple to make!
What you need:
Small wreath form (I got mine in the Target dollar bin)
ribbon
scrapbook paper
buttons
mini chalkboard
scrapbooking letters from American Crafts
I started by wrapping my wreath form with red ribbon and hot gluing the ends down. From there, I started making my paper medallions to attach to my wreath form. You can make paper medallions or pinwheels using my previous tutorial HERE. After that, I made my button apples. They are very easy to make, I used red paper to fill in the holes on the buttons and then I added a little green and stem and leaf. I hot glued it all to my medallion and glued it onto the wreath.
Finally, I added my American Crafts scrapbook letters…you could write “Back to School” or “Welcome Back” or spell out the grade…there are tons of options. Then, add your mini chalkboard with letters on it for a little more back to school flair!
The whole thing took me about 30 minutes to make and is small enough that you won’t feel bad putting it away a few weeks into the school year!
I hope you enjoyed all our ideas! Be sure to stop by all my friends’ blogs too for more Back to School Chalkboard Ideas!

My favorite thing about back to school is buying all the supplies. I have a strange addiction to buying crayons, markers, glue, notebooks, scissors, construction paper, etc. I think it started with kindergarten.
My daughter is so excited, we can’t wait to shop for new school clothes and supplies a totally cute new ‘do.
My favorite thing is the sales.
