It’s no big secret in my household that I’m a HUGE dessert lover and love to entertain and think outside the box with my treats. I think a summer dessert for my family after a night of grilling and being outside is just something to make summer a little sweeter and more fun. And adding a little COOL WHIP Whipped Topping to any dessert makes it even more tasty!
One of our summer favorites is strawberry shortcake, but I wanted to add a twist to it to make it a little different and fun at the same time!
I used COOL WHIP to make Mini Strawberry Vanilla Pound Cake Trifles to add something new to an every day dessert or even a cookout, like we’re hosting tomorrow night! Since I am a working mother, I decided to use store bought pound cake to save myself a little time…but it makes no difference in how great these things taste! YUM!
Here’s what you need:Â
Poundcake (store bought or homemade, cut into slices)
Strawberries sliced
COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
One small package of vanilla pudding
1 tbs. sugar
After that is mixed, you’ll want to cut up your strawberries into slices, then put a little sugar over top of them to make them extra sweet and juicy! The sugar isn’t absolutely necessary, but I definitely prefer them with a little sweet strawberry juice to drizzle on top!
Now you’re about all set to get started assembling your trifles! Start by crumbling up some of your pound cake for the bottom of your jar or cup…
Then you want to add a dollop of your COOL WHIP/pudding mixture on top of your pound cake.
Then add your sugary strawberries…
And repeat the process one or two more times depending on how large you want to make your dessert.
And there you have it, your very own individual strawberry vanilla pound cake trifles…that’s a mouthful, huh?!
Hope you enjoy this easy recipe!!
