“I Love You” Older Sibling Nursery Photos + Giveaway

It’s just TWO weeks til D-day…or should I say B-day?! My little girl is coming via scheduled c-section in two weeks and believe it or not, we’re STILL trying to finish up her nursery! Her big brother is SO excited to meet her and in decorating I thought it would be really fun to incorporate some “Big Brother Nursery Photos” in there for her so that when they get older and they’re bickering about who plays with what toy and who’s looking at who…I can remind them that they love each other. 😉

I Love You Older Sibling Nursery PhotosSo I started brainstorming and thought I’d put my son in a cute button up shirt, a sweet little black and white chevron bow tie I got him that matches a bow headband I got for his sister from NBrynn Designs on Etsy and then I’d take some photos of him making hand signals that showed “I LOVE YOU”.

Now…getting a four year old to hold still long enough, hold his hands a certain way, and smile…it’s HARD! So move fast–don’t focus too much on the small things, get him set up and shoot!

So we started out by getting this cute pictures in her nursery and I turned them black and white….

I Love You Baby Sister CollageThen I headed out to Target in search of three white frames that I could put them in and came across the perfect frame!

Target $5 framesHer bedroom has a lot of colors, patterns, and fabrics in it, so I used some of the teal polka dot fabric that I had and used it as matting in the frames, printed the photos, and then assembled them *in a matter of minutes!*

I Love You Big Brother Nursery Photos from The Cards We DrewAnd VOILA! I made a cute little vignette on her dresser that will always remind her that her older brother loves her…even when he’s not showing it.

I added the bows because they looked so cute and I intend on getting their photos together the first week both wearing their matching bow and bow tie from NBrynn Designs.

I love that his facial expressions are different in each photo, but that he’s in the same position for all of them! You could use this idea for so many different things too! You could have them hold signs, you could send out Valentine’s Day cards with these photos, you could put dates on them or have several siblings hold them up!

  4. I think I would have to get the sibling set in grey and off white. My daughter would love to have something to match her future little brother (expected in May)

  5. I would definitely get a sibling set! I love the yellow and gray combos, it’s hard to pick one. I’d also buy a men’s bow tie and make my husband wear it, because bow ties are cool 🙂

  6. We find out in TWO WEEKS if we’re getting a boy or a girl this summer so that’ll make a big difference in what I’d choose. If the bean is a girl- I love the sibling sets in mint or navy polkadots. If it’s a boy I’d get some of the more unusual bowties- gray corduroy, emerald velvet, black velvet, etc.

  7. I would love to purchase a bow for my Great Niece & something for either her new baby sister or brother….still to early to know!!
