Raise your hand if you love Target’s dollar section! *RAISES HAND JUMPING UP AND DOWN*
I pretty much STALK this aisle weekly for adorable finds…sometimes I swear I spend more in that section than I do elsewhere in the store. So imagine my excitement when I came across this adorable wire Easter basket for just $3.00!! I took it home determined that I had the perfect way to dress it up…that was last week. When I experienced a HUGE craft fail. Want to see it??
Gah! Don’t laugh. A scrappy basket seemed cute at first, but really not so much once you get it finished. Long story short, I ended up cutting it all off, wasting two hours and 4 fat quarters of fabric, and trying again. This one turned out cuter anyways
So here’s what I did instead. I used burlap garland that I had from a Christmas project and I folded it in half and weaved it in and out of my basket and then cut and glued the ends….
After the whole basket was wrapped, I used a round, hard paint brush to dab on polka dots of fun easter colored paints I already had on hand.
It only took a few minutes and I had my polka dots all around my little basket
I then embellished it with a paper bow I had from another project, added some Easter grass, and my Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Eggs and had a cute little handmade Easter display! The whole project took less than $10 to make and it’s a unique way to display Easter treats!
What are you crafting up for the Easter Bunny?!
