Train First Birthday Party

YAY! My computer cord is finally here and I can share the train party I styled this past weekend! As always, I used DimplePrints to help my friends plan their son’s first birthday party! My friend Carli, owner of DimplePrints, has AMAZING themes to choose from, but this may be one of my all time favorites and is a new listing in her shop! Check out Cameron’s red/blue train first birthday party….

Here’s the invitation that was sent out with a matching return address label and “Please Deliver To.

We used twisted crepe paper as the backdrop for the dessert table. This takes a while to accomplish, but I LOVE the end result!

Red velvet cake pops in the shapes of a train, cabooses, railroad crossing light, and crossing signal were provided by Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins on Etsy (she’s kind of amazing, check her out!)

I made chocolate covered red gingham oreos to match the party decor.  My tutorial for how to make these can be found HERE.

An apothecary jar full of rock candy was a hit with the kids, along with train whistles as favors.

Matching the invitations, fondant cupcake toppers were provided by Your Cupcake Story on Etsy.

Train cookies were made by the grandma of the birthday boy! They turned out (and tasted) great!

We needed a table to go under the chandelier, so we placed a “railroad tracks” table underneath with the silverware and plates for the guests.

The hostess opted for a fun taco bar with three different meat choices, a vegetarian choice, and 5 different salsas for their guests to choose from. Everyone really liked the idea.

Outdoor signs led their guests to the train station for the festivities.

It was a beautiful summer day and they had tents outside with lanterns and bandanas as centerpieces.
