Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Cook your bacon until crisp, drain, and set aside on paper towel.
Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, and garlic salt.
Fold chunks of butter into dry mixture, not over mixing.
Add the bacon and cheese and mix.
Add buttermilk and mix until it becomes a sticky dough. Don't overwork.
Pull dough from mixture and form into two balls.
On a lightly floured surface, flatten dough into 7 inch circles about 3/4" thick and cut each circle into 8 wedges. Transfer wedges to a baking sheet and lightly paint the tops of the wedges with the 2 tablespoons of buttermilk.
Bake until golden brown for 22 to 23 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm or reheated.
