Last month we started our 1/2 bathroom makeover. You’ve seen us repaint the room, then we added new lighting, a MirrorMate frame, and I added some DIY home decor so far…
Today you get to see the next step in our makeover PLUS another DIY home decor project coming up on the blog this week!
If you haven’t seen my posts before, I’m a big fan of Royal Design Studio. I think so highly of them and I really enjoy getting to work with them. So when I decided to stencil my middle bathroom shelf I immediately decided I need to contact them…I picked out the Casbah Trellis Moroccan Stencil.
To stencil you need:
You spray your stencil with the spray adhesive to help it stick to the wall, but it’s not going to make the wall tacky or anything…just helps to hold the stencil up.
From there you just line the stencil up and work your way over. This stencil was a bit more tricky because of the size of the shelves, so I did find it hard to get it all perfect, but the gold paint is so nice and subtle, but the glimmer makes it so fun and pretty!
Once I’m done stenciling I pull it off immediately and try to make any quick corrections I need.
This is after I do all the center parts of the stenciling, then I went back and did the top and the sides, which is a lot harder given the size of the shelves.
Here’s the finished product. I thought it would be fun to just do the middle shelf for a little “POP” since there’s not much else yet on that shelf. I want to add a few knick knacks and such, but otherwise I love the fun look we have going on.
I love how happy and bright this bathroom has turned out. It’s been such a fun process and I’m about finished. TOMORROW you can stop back to enter to win a Royal Design Studio stencil of your choice and to see how I made that gold and white bunting frame!
