This time of the year is our family’s FAVORITE time because it’s GRILLING season and we finally have some new dinner options! My husband is from Texas and literally puts hot sauce on everything **EV-ERY-THING**. He loves heat and spice and I’m happy to oblige. I too like a little heat, so when we were out today at Walmart picking up our new swing set (yay!) I grabbed some stuff hoping to make our own tasty Spicy Jalapeno Cheese Burger.
Now I know you can’t see the heat from the photo, but this burger got my husband’s stamp of approval and brought the heat. It was the perfect blend of flavor and spice and he already requested that we make them again soon!
WHAT YOU NEED:
Ground Beef (not pre-formed patties because you need to mix it yourself)
Kraft Shredded Sharp Cheddar
Kraft Jalapeno Cheese Slices
Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (or other hot sauce)
Seasoning as desired (we used Ass Kicking Hot Salt)
Kraft Chipotle Mayo
Other veggie toppings…tomatoes, lettuce, onions, etc.
I started by chopping up some jalapenos and mixing them with sharp cheddar cheese shreds in a bowl and into the hamburger meat. There’s no “exact” amounts to add. I didn’t measure, I just added until I got it looking the way I wanted.
After I mixed it together I formed them into patties. Since only my husband and I wanted spicy burgers we made two spicy and the rest were regular burgers (boooorinng).
Once the burgers were formed, we seasoned them the way we normally do…with a combination of garlic salt, seasoned salt, but in the case of these burgers we used my husband’s Ass Kicking Hot Salt (literally, that’s the name).
My husband is old school with his grilling and INSISTS on using a charcoal grill. He thinks that charcoal makes the food taste better than a gas…and since he’s doing the grilling I don’t argue! 🙂
As the burgers sizzled on the grill, I was busy making our pasta side dishes and getting the burger toppings ready. I picked up some Kraft Chipotle Mayo, as well as Kraft Big Sliced Jalapeno Cheese to add to our burgers…I’m a huge fan of a cheesy burger, so it was great to have the cheddar IN the burger, as well as the spicy cheese on top of the burger!
They turned out amazing and we can’t wait to make them again!
Hope this inspires you to try to make your own spicy hamburger creations! Our grocery store sells them marked as “gourmet burgers” and they are so easy to make on your own! Just think of your favorite spices, toppings, and seasonings and add them into a tasty burger!
