I have two dear friends getting married in just two months (as of today!), so this weekend I got the opportunity to help plan their bridal shower. I was responsible for the dessert table, so we decided to go outside the box a little bit and go with a “Love Sweet Love” theme. Since there’s a “sweet” in there, we went with a delicious dessert table full of tasty treats. I also got the opportunity to work with four amazing vendors and I’ll show you in a few moments why they were so amazing….
The dessert table including cake cookies as favors from The Pastry Tart Bakery, chocolate covered bride/groom strawberries by me (tutorial coming soon), lacy chocolate covered oreos by me (tutorial HERE), cupcakes with “I Do” fondant toppers from Your Cupcake Story, Cherry Vanilla Chip cake pops with disco dust from Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins, strawberry rock candy from Party City, and pom decor for above the dessert table from DecoPOMS.
The colors of the shower were coral and champagne and we really tried to keep it simple and sweet. We wanted a nice selection of desserts, but we didn’t want to take it overboard as the shower was small and intimate.
The backdrop was a Love Sweet Love sign by DimplePrints, which sat on top of a geometric pattern wrapping paper that I got last minute at Target. This shower was not at my house, so I did try to be careful about the stuff that I had to haul to and from.
The cupcake toppers were made by Your Cupcake Story and were put on top of a variety of homemade cupcake flavors from red velvet to vanilla and chocolate. Your Cupcake Story also made little champagne fondant balls that we laid on top of each of the cupcakes for an added bridal touch.
Amazing Cherry Vanilla Chip cake pops with edible glitter were given to us by Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins on Etsy. She turned out to be a local vendor (to me in Columbus), so it turned out perfectly and they arrived hand delivered on my doorstep Saturday morning. They were intended to have pretty champagne ribbons on them, but the morning planning got the best of my time and I wasn’t able to get them on there. Oh well.
I used fresh hydrangeas for floral accents on the table and I had a white tablecloth with satin champagne overlay for the table linens. To elevate the cake plates and cupcake stand I wrapped USPS boxes in white wrapping paper for a simple way to add some height and emphasis to different parts of the table.
Homemade chocolate covered bride and groom strawberries were made by me. A tutorial on this easy and fun treat is forthcoming this week!
AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS handmade cookies were used as guest favors and came from Tawnya of The Pastry Tart Bakery on Etsy. Tawnya is SO fun to work with and she sent us 20 cookies all different from the other. They were all unique in their own way and our guests and the bride absolutely loved them. AND they are as tasty as they are beautiful.
The cookies ended up being the perfect added decoration to the party and definitely stole the show.
Tawnya even threw in some of her gorgeous corset cookies as a special treat for the bride since we mentioned how pretty and fun those were. Amazing!!
Here’s another side view of the table.
The scalloped edges of the cupcake toppers really added some fun to the cupcakes and made the perfect centerpiece for the whole table.

Pom’s were from Aidreen at DecoPOMS on Etsy. They added such fun and color to the shower.
The sister of the bride, shower host, put together an fun Mimosa Bar for all the guests that included two different choices for champagne, as well as three different juice mixers, and fruit to add to the cocktail. The mimosa’s were DELISH…probably more delish than they should have been. 🙂
Photo of the mimosa bar. The hostess bought all the stemware at Walmart for insanely cheap prices (like 4 for $5!!).
A final view of the shower table from the living room.
The guest of honor/bride, Kristen, with all her desserts and her fun corset cookies. Her dress even matched the table!!! Best wishes to Kristen and Jason!!!

What a sweet party! I am sure that the bride loved it! 🙂 I would love for this to be linked up over at the project party that I have every weekend… if you want to join here: https://bubblynaturecreations.com/2012/03/500-followers-giveaway-and-project-party-weekend.html
Adore it. The chocolate coated strawberries are wonderful as is everything else.

Thanks for sharing. Too adorable. This would be a perfect type of party to feature on my new blog, All Grown Up. Keep us in mind!

Disco dust is PLASTIC CRAFT GLITTER!!! It is NOT for use on any food–ever. Doesn’t matter that it’s non toxic–it’s PLASTIC and we don’t feed plastic to people.
Edible glitter is made from gum arabic, sanding sugar, or gelatin.
Thanks for your comments regarding this. This post is 3 years old and I know she didn’t use craft glitter. I can tell you’re really hell bent on making sure I know that disco dust isn’t supposed to be used. I’m not sure what she used…but I know she’s a reputable vendor, so I’m sure it’s a slip on my part. It’s been corrected.
