This is the first year I’ve been able to decorate a MANTEL in my home! We’ve never had a mantel before and our new house has this free standing brick fireplace in the middle of the house. There used to be a wood burning fireplace there, but the previous owners removed it, so now we just have this really unique brick structure in our center room! Today I wanted to show you How to Decorate for Fall on a budget and how I made over my mantel for the fall with the help of my NEW favorite store…At Home! You remember my Indoor Patio Makeover, right? That too was all my fun At Home finds…so hopefully you’ll enjoy this just as much!
I visited At Home with my mom a few weekends ago, it was my second time there and her first…and she was just amazed with the wide assortment of items. They truly have so much to offer you guys and at the most insanely affordable prices. You’ll feel like a kid in a candy store.
I had such a hard time deciding what direction to go in for my mantel. Did I use traditional fall colors, go with something more dramatic or formal, or try some cooler fall hues? And At Home gave me options in all those departments. I was laughing because I literally kept picking things up and putting them back because I couldn’t decide which direction to go.
Finally, I decided I just really loved this fall leaf wreath and all of it’s great colors, so I started to center my mantel around that. I picked up a corn husk garland, which ended up fitting the mantel perfectly and providing some sparkle.
The whole thing fit well with my Farmhouse Sign I made a few months ago, so I left that up for some space filler behind the wreath and I added a white vase with some cottonwood that I already had from before.
Below my mantel, I used a rustic crate I already kept in my credenza and I filled it with a small straw bale and some gourds from At Home. Then I put a really pretty ceramic “Thankful” pumpkin on top, surrounding by some other pretty pumpkin and gourd finds around it!
At Home had a TON of gorgeous glass pumpkins for amazing prices (like, we’re talking under $20 here), so I grabbed several and just thought they would look so classy and fun in a little fall vignette and they totally lived up to expectations!
I tried to add a lot of different heights and complimentary colors and textures to my design…hence the sparkles and metallics and glass and leaves. It’s perfect for fall and transitioning into Thanksgiving…and I got it all for around $225 and was very simple to set up!
So what do you think? Are you dying to find an At Home near you now? I can’t wait to go back…I have a few bathrooms that are in serious need of redecorating and At Home makes it possible to do that with over 500 new items each week…every department you can think of from decor to housewares to lamps and rugs…you name it! You can find something for every room in your house there and actually afford it because they have such unbelieveable prices.
Honestly, you’ll either love me for referring you to them or you’ll hate me…because you’ll have a new shopping addiction there (but a house with totally killer style!).
Stop by At Home today and get your fall and holiday decorating fix!!
