Next week is Teacher Appreciation week and this whole week on DimplePrints (my other blogging home) we’ve had amazing Teacher Appreciation printables and gift ideas that we collaborated with My Paper Pinwheel and Giggles Galore on! So I thought I’d share a few too and you can head over to DimplePrints to download the prints!
This wasn’t too hard to make and we were inspired by a project we saw online in Country Woman magazine and we just kind of ran with that for a free tag and printable.
What you need for this project:
Two green soda bottles (and to finish off the soda inside them…I used Sprite)
A 9 inch green zipper
Hot Glue and Glue Gun
Green Sixlets (from Joann’s)
I started first by cutting the bottom of the bottles off and evening them out so they fit nicely. I started the cut with a serated knife and then finished with scissors.
Then I proceeded to hot glue a zipper around the outside of the “apple”. It may melt just a little bit, but otherwise it holds just fine.
From there I filled my sixlets up in a baggie and stuffed it into my apple and zipped it up. The whole thing is very inexpensive to make. I took a piece of felt and twine and made a little stem and attached the tag to the top. The twine bow makes it a little more fun.
You can print off the tag and add your child’s name to the bottom and give it to the special teacher in your little one’s life for a little extra “something” during Teacher Appreciation Week. How could they turn down this face?!
