My daughter turned one shortly after Valentine’s Day, but of course due to weather issues we weren’t able to celebrate it until over two weeks later. So this past weekend we finally had the chance to have her party. The day was less than perfect weather-wise, but we had our closest friends there to celebrate (family couldn’t come in due to weather) and we made the best of the time! Today I’m sharing with you my daughter’s Pink Mint and Gold Confetti Birthday!! My favorite party yet!
I’ll say this much…I love styling little girl’s rooms and birthday parties. Last year after I finished up her nursery I couldn’t wait to start planning her first birthday! We decided to have it at a local church that rents out a big kids play area with indoor climbing gym. It’s $75 for a day and it means that I don’t have to worry about furiously cleaning my house only to have it trashed in an hour!
The glass wall made the perfect background for the dessert table…there was another area for food and drink that I forgot to photograph (duh!) but we kept it simple with subs, chips, pasta, and drinks. The dessert table was the real centerpiece of the party! I love a good, festive dessert, so I worked with some awesome vendors to create perfect desserts for my daughter’s first birthday!
I served mini donuts, vanilla pink and gold cake pops, custom decorated sugar cookies, and a gorgeous cake for desserts. I put a little sign and bags out for guests to take home some treats as a party favor.
On the table I laid out paper confetti strips, confetti in the party colors, as well as mini honeycomb balls in pink and blue. For the backdrop, I made paper fans with scrapbook paper and then punched out pink and gold circles and glued them onto a piece of beadboard I use for photography purposes. Flanking either side of the dessert table I had confetti filled balloons (matching the confetti on the table).
There were three small children’s tables in the room. Once we used for gifts and the other two we covered with tablecloths. We put a large gold “1” balloon with long tassels hanging from it as the centerpiece. You can see the awesome play area in the background!
As for the birthday girl herself, I ordered some custom fabric from Spoonflower and my mom used THIS TUTORIAL to create her another onesie dress (another post on the dress coming soon). I forgot to photograph the cute onesie underneath, but it read “first birthday” and the custom fabric skirt matched the invitation and printables. Since it was chilly in the party room and the dress was short sleeved, I put a cute pink cardigan over top and had her in a pair of white tights. I also topped her little head off with a cute handmade bow from NBrynn Designs on Etsy.
**Please excuse the watermark over my daughter’s face in these photos. I’d like to protect these images as best as I can from being reused for any purposes other than on my site.** The dress turned out to be PERFECT for the party and she looked absolutely adorable in it!! She wasn’t a fan of keeping the bow on her head throughout the party unfortunately 😉
When it came time for the cake…she was definitely intrigued! The cake I had made is from a central Ohio cake maker, Angela’s Cakes. She made the top tier my daughter’s smash cake and the bottom tier is the one we served. The flavor was funfetti!
Honestly, the whole party turned out just as I’d hoped…it was a great day and we love this little gal more than anything in the world. I can’t wait to do more birthday parties for her and see what SHE chooses going forward!!

Cute! Great job
This is absolutely adorable! Not as adorable as the birthday girl though. Love the confetti theme!
Adorable. I love the colors and her coordinating skirt and bow are perfection. So sweet.
