I recently shared with you my weight loss story and how I lost 14.5 lbs in 60 days. During this time it was hard to find foods I really enjoyed eating that were also good for me. One thing I could afford to eat that I also loved was this simple Pear Gorgonzola Flatbread Pizza. It takes a matter of minutes to make and it’s made with a whole-wheat based flatbread that makes it allowable for my program. The pear is a nice sweet taste with the salty gorgonzola cheese! Check out how easy it is to make and why I use PAM Cooking Spray o save time during prep and for easy cleanup after!
What you need:
Naan flatbread
PAM Original or PAM Olive Oil Cooking Spray
Minced Garlic
Thinly sliced pear (as much or little as you like)
1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
optional: roasted chicken
How to:
Start by generously spraying your skillet with PAM Olive Oil Cooking Spray. Also lightly spray your Naan flatbread on both sides with PAM Olive Oil Cooking Spray or Original Cooking Spray. Once the skillet is warm, add some minced garlic and spread evenly around the pan, let the garlic sizzle for a few seconds, then add your Naan flatbread.
Warm flatbread on both sides for a minute and then add on cheese and pear to the side you’d like to face up. With PAM, you get a tasty and low-fat alternative to traditional olive oil adds a touch of flavor to your dishes. So you can show your family your heart’s in the right place—by caring for theirs.
While flatbread is in the skillet, cut thin slices of pear, being careful to trim off the skin…it makes for a softer piece of pear without the skin on it.
Keep in skillet for a few minutes until the bread is cooked, then transfer to the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes to thoroughly melt the cheese and heat the pear through. The skillet will allow a little of the garlic to cook into the bread, while the oven gets everything nice and melty!
Pull flatbread out of the oven, slice and enjoy!!
Leaving up to *99% less residue, PAM is your ally in the kitchen and allows you to save time during prep and clean up* vs. leading cooking sprays (except olive oil), after spraying on glass bake ware, baking at 400°F for 30 min, cooling, and then washing in standard home dishwasher with detergent and repeating 4 times.
So there you have it, a simple, easy, and healthy recipe idea for those of you looking to incorporate more whole wheat ideas into your life. This pizza still makes my mouth water even when I’m not dieting! I hope you enjoy as much as I do!
