Last week my husband and I went to San Francisco and Napa Valley for the week, kid free! More details on that to come, but it was so relaxing. The weather was cool, the views were amazing and we got to visit and see so many cool things. The hard part about traveling though, we were reminded, was all the eating out and the expense of it all. By mid-week we were so sick of eating out that we were trying to snack in between meals so that we were only eating two larger meals a day and could cut back on some of the costs. And quite frankly, budget aside, we were just kind of pining for a home cooked, lighter meal. With all the walking we were doing it seemed like we were constantly hungry and there weren’t lot of good options for on-the-go while you’re hiking around town.
After some searching and trying out various options, I feel like I finally found my happy medium with these INIT bars from Walmart! I know there’s a lot of options these days for snacks, but these have all the good stuff that you want with fuel AND flavor in every bite. They are an excellent source of fiber and are made from organic ingredients. For me, personally, I loved the Mixed Nuts and Sweet Berries INIT bars the most…the berries have a fun, sweet kick and I really love the chewy texture. They filled me up quickly, but not too full so I felt heavy or sluggish.
With spring finally here I feel like I finally have found my favorite spring snack…perfect for traveling, baseball games, swim lessons, after work treats, and more. And the best news is that don’t feel at all guilty about enjoying it. Win-Win!
