We’ve been in our house nearly four years now and just about every room has been updated and redecorated since we moved in…with the exception of our bedroom. The thing is, I LOVE our bedroom. The previous owners had purple and fuchsia stripes in the bedroom that we painted over using a color that match Pottery Barn’s Porcelain Blue color. So now that I’m working on some bedroom updates, I thought I’d share this fun little project that I made to help organize stuff that usually ends up on top of our dressers. Using an assortment of mini frames from Cut It Out, I created this mini frame jewelry holder with chicken wire to help me organize stuff in our bedroom better and in a pretty way!
The idea is simple…here’s what you need:
8 mini frames from Cut It Out in sizes 2.5″ x 3.5″.
Chicken Wire from Darice
Chalk Paint in white and blue
Start by painting all your frames. I preferred the chalk paint because it looks really nice on the frames and dries quickly. You can use regular acrylic paint too.
After your frames are painted, you’ll want to use the backings that you removed from the frame to cut small pieces of chicken wire using your wire cutters. You’ll cut the chicken wire and then place the chicken wire in the frame like you would a picture. At the end, I used a little hot glue to hold all the wire in place along with the tabs that already are there for the photos.
Once the wire in in place, I finally laid out how I wanted my frames to look (white on bottom and blue on top) and then I literally hot glued them all together. The frames are very light and it’s held up just fine.
I had mini clothespins on hand that I painted with the blue paint and attached to the chicken wire.
You can use those clothespins to hang up jewelry, receipts, photos and more!
I put this on my bedroom wall and it looks really nice and unique and it’s definitely a great way to organize items in your bedroom.
Here’s a little sneak peak of the master bedroom….
Not bad, not great. Keeping it real with the baby pack n play and the stuff on the nightstand. We made that headboard ourselves a few years ago. I’ll have some fun updates and pops of color coming soon to spruce this room up a bit! What would you do to this room?
