With the holidays weeks away, I know many of us are working to get our houses ready for guests and visitors. Some of you may have relocated or are in temporary residences for work…or maybe you’re just starting out and don’t have much in the way of furniture yet. We all have our own situations and the good news is that just because you’ve moved or otherwise, you don’t have to sacrifice style and a cozy living space this holiday season. Today I want to share with you three Living Room Design Ideas that I created all using furniture and pieces from CORT Furniture Rental!
I created each design using the program, Olioboard, which allows you to move design elements in and out and create these fun boards to visual your whole design. For my first design, I started with this great blue couch and designed the space around it.
For the above design, the couch, the nesting tables and lamp, the mirror, the apothecary table, and the plant ALL came from CORT Furniture Rental. Where you can rent furniture and create your own vision! I love all the options and how modern their furniture rentals–I could go crazy designing all sorts of rooms with CORT, but today I just focused on fun living room design ideas!
For this design, I chose two simple and modern gray chairs that I really liked. In between them I selected a great reclaimed wood table that CORT rents, as well as a trunk that could be used as an ottoman or center table. The painting the the lamp, as well as the plant are all from CORT, as well. I loved the lamp and the pop of color it provided to the design and the whole thing felt very feminine and like a great design for a 30 something lady with a great apartment or condo.
Finally, I fell in love with this great tufted blue couch. I really love unique items like this and paired with a great black ottoman that CORT offers, it seemed very modern, yet very cozy and welcoming. I decided to complete the look with a colorful rug and a great octagonal mirror that CORT offers, as well as a really unique floor lamp–and it seemed like the perfect setting for around a fireplace in a home!
Here’s some living room design tips that I really like:
- Don’t be afraid to mix patterns in coordinating colors.
- Combine elements of old and new, as well as textures like wood and metal.
- Add greenery and plants where you can, plants add a cozy element to the space.
- Paint walls a neutral color so that you can change your decor out as you like.
- Look for unique accents like lighting and decor for your space, think outside the box.
- If you can’t change out your furniture, at least consider fun throw pillows and colorful rugs for your space to draw people in.
I hope you enjoyed my designs–remember, the possibilities are endless and it’s SO easy to create a cozy and unique space on any budget with a little creativity!
