Raise your hand if you think adulting can kind of suck sometimes (hand raised). There’s taking care of your kids and family, there’s going to work, there’s keeping up with laundry and housework, there’s cooking and grocery shopping…and then, my least favorite, there’s paying the bills and budgeting. *insert universal siiiighhh here* I despise this part of being an adult and what I despise even more is trying to remember the fifteenth username/password combination for a bill since I forgot it last month and reset it. There’s a good possibility that you guys are much more organized than I am, but if you’re not, today I want to show you a Free Budget Spreadsheet (download at the bottom of the post) that I put together for you to download as well as an idea on how to keep track of passwords for all your bills!
After years of trying to track all of my bills and due dates for both my husband and I, I finally got smart and made my own spreadsheet. Maybe you’re not big on Excel or this is something that seems a little basic to you, but a simple Excel spreadsheet is how I manage ALL of my bills and due dates and keep track of what has been paid, what hasn’t, and what money I’ll have left over after bills for spending.
So let’s start with my budgeting basics:
- Keep track of it in WRITING somewhere. Maybe my Excel spreadsheet isn’t for you and that’s ok. Keep it in a calendar or a planner.
- Set a specific day right after you get paid and get all those bills paid immediately. Putting them off will only delay the inevitable and could cause you to over spend.
- Store your usernames and passwords somewhere SAFE…like with Keeper Security .
Keeper Security simplifies and protects the digital lives of people by managing their passwords and files in a secure and private vault allowing them to access and share this information anytime, anywhere and from any device. They offer a central managing center for all your passwords, files, photos and videos! And your information is safeguarded by top notch security. The interface is very simple and intuitive and can be accessed on a mobile device via an app or via your computer.
It’s so easy to setup and use and it makes online activity easier, faster, and more secure. It’s given me peace of mind on protecting myself and my husband against cyber theft.
I like the fact that they not only have it accessible via desktop, but also via an app, where you can store loads of important documents. Not only will you have instant access to your passwords to pay bills, but you can store all of your important documents in a place that is available at the touch of a button. Genius!
Between my spreadsheet and Keeper Security, I’m all set for budgeting and keeping my passwords and important documents safe and secure. I encourage you to download my Excel Spreadsheet below and invest in an annual membership to Keeper Security to keep yourself protected and organized!
