Maybe you’re not one that LOVES entertaining and trust me, I totally get that. I do enjoy the occasional party, but sometimes it can seem like more work is put into the minute details than what’s really necessary. How much do adult guests REALLY stress over those bags that you spent an hour decorating in your party theme, for example? So for those of you that really want to throw a fun party, but don’t want to stress yourselves out or kill yourselves over tiny details, today I want to show you some Easy Super Bowl Party Ideas that will make your guests appreciate your work, but won’t break the bank or take up too much of your time!!
I put together a little impromptu pre-Super Bowl Super Bowl party this weekend to give you an idea of how easy it can be and how much fun you can make things for just your family…or for a crowd!! I kept the menu simple and easy and the decorations were neutral (because I don’t have a team in the fight).
Here was my menu:
Velveeta and Rotel dip with nacho chips
DiGiornio Pizza with football pepperoni on top (add string cheese and pepperoni to a store bought pizza)
Hotdog Sliders (Hawaiian rolls with cheese and sliced hot dogs topped with mustard)
Brownies iced and sliced into pieces made to look like footballs with white icing
Coke to drink
Black and white pennants
Black garland cut into mini footballs
Black and white striped plates
Black and white napkins
And the best part….I made ONE stop for all of these items!! I didn’t have to run around like a crazy person. I stopped at Target and was able to grab all my needs in one swoop!! If that’s not easy, I don’t know what else is….let’s check out the details!!
I set up the whole thing on the credenza in my living room. I put a piece of beadboard behind setup and laid a green tablecloth over top of the credenza. I thought the black, white and green would be nice neutral colors since I didn’t have a team in the fight.
For the decor, I found this cute black dot garland in the party section, so I snapped it up and brought it home and got to cutting. I cut each dot into a football shape then used glue and glitter to make them look like footballs. Even though they’re not brown, I thought they’d be a fun take on the garland that Target sold in stores.
I layered the football garland with the black and white pennants I found at Target, as well, and I thought it gave it a fun look. Paired with the green tablecloth, it’s really bright and modern looking!
Since my goal was to keep things simple, I made this store bought pizza a little more fun by adding the pepperoni in the shape of a football, then I used a piece of cut up string cheese to make the laces on the football. All it took was a few extra minutes and it was WAY cheaper that ordering pizza in!
Then I took some store bought brownies and added white icing to them to make them more football festive!! Again, no baking or crazy planning…I already had white icing on hand and I just added it to the tops of the brownies.
A staple in our house for football viewing is Rotel. We combine Velveeta cheese and Rotel and warm it up over the stove, then let it stay warm in a crockpot. It’s an easy idea and all your guests will love it!!
Finally, I made these cute hot dog sliders….
Start by boiling your hotdogs to warm them up. While they’re boiling, cut your Hawaiian rolls in half and lay them down on the bottom of a greased, square pan. Once your hot dogs are ready, slice them in half and then cut them in half length wise, then add two per roll. Top with cheese then add the tops of the buns and place in the oven on medium heat until browned and melted. Then, take either mustard and/or ketchup and draw football laces across the top for a little fun addition!!
My family really loved them and again…they’re super simple and easy to make. You could even add some chili to them to make them extra amazing.
Remember, your guests aren’t going to be stressing over whether or not every little thing is perfect, they are going to look for good food, good company, and a memorable evening. Focus on being an engaged hostess and coming up with a few yummy recipes…homemade or not, and know that everyone will appreciate any work you put into having them to your house!!
Enjoy your Super Bowl weekend and I hope these Easy Super Bowl Party Ideas were helpful!!
