I was tasked this year with coming up with a craft for my son’s 1st grade Fall Party. There are 20+ kids in his class and I knew it would be a little chaotic and we wouldn’t have time for lots of gluing and painting. Given that I’m a bit of a craft snob, being that I like crafts to be BOTH cute and functional, plus I needed something affordable, I decided to hit up Target to see what I could find. I found some awesome polka dot orange and white tissue paper in the dollar spot section with green paper included, plus I found some pipe cleaners, also in green. So today I want to share with you my easy Halloween craft for kids of all ages– these Toilet Paper Pumpkins. All the supplies for roughly 2 dozen kids cost me about $25.
How to make Toilet Paper Pumpkins
Supplies:
One sheet of orange/white tissue paper per “pumpkin”
One sheet of green tissue paper per pumpkin
One Green pipe cleaner per pumpkin
One roll of toilet paper (the cheap kind) per pumpkin
Easy Toilet Paper Pumpkins:
Start by rolling your toilet paper up with the orange/white polka dot paper. Once it’s rolled, tuck the ends into the TP tube and push down until secure.
Next, take a sheet of green tissue paper and fold in half, then roll it up and fold it in half again, to create the stem. Push it down into the toilet paper tube, as well until secure. You could use glue if you wanted to here, but it’s not necessary.
Finally, take your pipe cleaner and circle it around your finger to create a little curly, then pull it off and push that down into the tube as well.
Ta-da!! A cute Halloween or fall craft made in minutes with no scissors, tape, or glue–and for cheap!
