If you haven’t been keeping up lately (and why not, I may add haha), I’m getting ready for Andrew’s 2nd birthday party that I’m using a candy corn theme for. I love candy corns and I’ve had a lot of fun already finding food and decor for his party. One of my absolute favorite crafts to make though are wreaths. I’ve made a bunch of them now and I swear (not to pat my own back) they each get a little better each time. Even my husband told me how much he liked my work tonight, which is unheard of. So here’s my attempt at a cute candy corn wreath for my son’s party and also for fall decor/Halloween decor.
What you need:
18″ grapevine wreath (Michael’s- $4.95)
Some little doodads to put on the wreath (I got two at Michael’s for $1.99/doodad)
Candy Corn
Glue gun/sticks
Felt
Ribbon (optional)
Black spray paint (optional)
1. Take your grapevine wreath and spray paint it black. I wanted very Halloween colors, so I decided to paint the wreath. For a simple autumn or fall look you could skip this part because the brown grapevine is very pretty unpainted too.
2. After this I added my “doodads” on the sides of the wreath and hot glued them into place (see the little pumpkin and ghost on the sides? Those are also fake candy corns with pumpkins on branches on the sides).
3. I then glued some real candy corns onto the wreath very carefully and then got to work making my felt flowers. I’m not going to go through the felt flower tutorial because I found it HERE on Home Stories A to Z. Her wreath on there is another wreath on my to do list in the next few weeks.
So I just made some felt flowers and kept on glueing til it looked the way I envisioned. Then I added a black bow to the top of the wreath for some fun and here’s the final product!
I wish the pictures were better. It’s dark outside and I REALLY wanted to get this up tonight, so the pictures aren’t perfect, but I still LOVE how the wreath turned out and how fun it is. I have a little plaque I need to add to the center of it still before Andrew’s birthday party. I’m going to write “BOO I’m 2” on it for his party.
What do you think!?!

It looks great and makes me hungry for some candy corn =)
I love that you painted the wreath black. The candy corn and flowers really ‘pop’ off of it. Great job!
Very cute! You did a great job.
We have just started to get candy corn over here in Australia and we enjoyed it a lot last Halloween! I can’t wait to get some more soon.
Your wreath is great. Looks like it is going to be a fun party!
