We moved into our house last year and in that time I’ve focused on updating my son and daughter’s room and our sunroom, but I haven’t gotten to our bedroom yet! Our room is pretty plain jane and I have big plans for fixing it up and today I wanted to share with you my Bedroom Makeover Inspiration along with my new Annie Selke Bedding that prompted the whole idea!! Let’s start out with the before/current state of the room…..
Yep, there’s the bed…stripped of sheets in the wash. Plain boring walls with nothing on them…a far cry from my kids cute, painted rooms!
Boooooorrrrriiiiinnnngggg…..the previous owner literally painted every single wall of the house this dreary tan color, so we’re slowly but surely knocking out the rooms as we go.
Because I want light, bright, and airy, we chose Sherwin Williams’ Comfort Gray for our bedroom walls last year, but are waiting until this winter to paint them. We want a really cool, peaceful room, so I picked a painting that I really liked at World Market as the basis for my design. I wanted lots of natural wood elements, as well as pattern and texture to the room.
For the bedding, I had been eyeing some great Annie Selke Bedding items from the their catalog for a while, including this Ruffle Duvet Cover. I liked the fun ruffled edges, but really liked the simplicity of the duvet because as much as I LOVE color and patterns, I just wanted our room to be really simple and peaceful.
I already had some large white euro pillows, so behind them I picked out some King Size Brussels Indigo Quilted Shams. I felt like these added some texture and color to the bed, but without being too overwhelming.
Finally, I just adore this Quinn Indigo Cotton Blanket I got to lay over the foot of the bed. It’s so soft and it’s perfect to add over top for extra warmth during the winter. Plus, it adds another fun indigo/navy pop of color to my otherwise very simple bedding choices.
All of these items were found on Annie Selke online. Annie Selke is a brand that works hard to bring style, comfort and quality, and quality is one of the things I noticed first about the items I ordered. Annie Selke always comes to my mind first when I’m decorating a space and they excel at bringing happy home!! I just love how my bedroom update is starting off…..
Obviously I have a lot of work to do and for my family, we need to take our time and budget a makeover. I wish I could rush out and buy everything at once, but it’s something that takes some time and I like to make sure what I get is perfect for the space!!
