I love all the fun, vintage and rustic Christmas decor out there right now, so today I wanted to share this easy 30 Minute Gift Idea for a Fresh Tree Mini Tree Planter. Surely you’ve seen all the cute fresh Christmas tree crates for sale right now, so why not create your own mini version of one in under 30 minutes as a cute Christmas gift idea. It’s the perfect Christmas gift idea for a coworker, a teacher, a friend, or to take to a Christmas party! Check out how easy it was to create!
Supplies for post:
Small crate (from Michaels)
Folk Art Acrylic Multi-Surface Acrylic Paint in Fresh Foliage Green, Imperial Red, and Thunder Gray
Martha Stewart Crafts® Holiday Stencils
Martha Stewart Crafts® Adhesive Stencils
Paintbrushes
Mini Norfolk Island Pine Tree
How to:
This little crate is from Michaels and is so cute, it was perfect for what I was looking for and very affordable. I started by using the Martha Stewart Crafts Christmas tree stencil and taping it onto the center of one side of the crate. I used painter’s tape to hold it in place and painted the tree with Folk Art Acrylic Multi-Surface Acrylic Paint in Fresh Foliage Green.
Once it’s painted, promptly and carefully remove the stencil and let dry. Then start with the letter in the middle of your word and work your way out with the stencils. I like the Martha Stewart Crafts Adhesive Stencils because they are SO easy to use and you just stick them on and stencil!!
Once you stencil all your letters, you can add your little tree into the crate. I placed mine wrapped with pretty red buffalo plaid fabric around the base of the tree! All that took about 30 minutes to make and it’s a cute little crate that your friends or family can reuse for their holiday plants each year.
I hope you enjoyed this simple little 30 Minute Gift Idea!
