YOU GUYS, I’m SO excited today!!! The day is finally here! I LOVE July 4th and all things Red White and Blue so last month I dreamt up this awesome idea to get ALL my blogging pals in ONE place and do the ULTIMATE Red White and Blue Roundup!! 100+ bloggers sharing all their favorite patriotic ideas in one day on their blogs!! It’s SO exciting and I’ve gotten to see what each blogger has in store for you guys and it WON’T disappoint!!
So today, I’ve decided to share with you MY Red White and Blue post…
I found these ENORMOUS marshmallows at Walmart the other day, so I took to creating a JUMBO American Flag Marshmallow Pop!
What you need:
paper straws to put your marshmallow on
JUMBO marshmallows
White chocoloate
blue M&M’s (I just bought a regular bag and pulled the blues out…and ate the rest LOL)
red fruit rollups
How to:
Start by placing your marshmallows on your paper straws. You’ll want to choose nicely shaped marshmallows for this project.
I then heated up some white melting chocolate in the microwave and got my marshmallow ready. You’ll want to have a plate with wax paper nearby to set them on.
Before I dipped my marshmallow, I separated out my blue M&M’s and cut long strips of my fruit rollups and measured how long the stripes would need to be and cut accordingly…don’t worry, this isn’t as tedious as it seems. Have kids nearby to eat the excess M&M’s and fruit rollups!
Dip your marshmallow in the chocolate, be sure the chocolate isn’t TOO hot though because you don’t want it to melt your marshmallow. Then add your four M&M’s in the upper left corner and your two long and one shorter strip of fruit rollup. Then place on the wax paper and put in fridge to cool.
Once they are cool, put them in a jar or glass to display, wrap them up and give them to friends as party favors, or just eat them immediately because they’ll have a great chocolatey crunch on the outside and a soft gooey inside!!
An easy Red White and Blue treat for you and your kids to make this year!!
DID YOU LIKE THAT?! Want more ideas…check out what all 100 of my friends are up to and sharing today!!!!
