DIY Felt Stem Roses and Painted Valentine’s Vase

I’m sorry I’ve been a little absent lately, sometimes you just need to take a break and blog as things come to you. I’m not one to force myself to blog because I feel obligated to, but rather I blog as I create and inspiration strikes. So I hope everyone understands you’re not going to come to my site and see a new post or craft every day…or even every few days sometimes. I work, I’m a mommy, and then I’m a blogger and creator and I really love all three of my hats and I love everyone that stops by to read my blog.

MOVING ON! Valentine’s Day is officially less than one month away and I was inspiring to create a cute little valentine’s bud vase for a post I recently did on Mom It Forward on Monday. I’m re-sharing it with you now in case you missed it.

For this project you need:
~Bud Vase
~Plate or tray for vase
~Glass paint
~Floral wire for flower stem
~Hot Glue and Scissors
~Pink felt
~Extra decorations: doilies, glass beads, etc.

I started by painting my bud vase. I free handed multi colored hearts all over the vase, but you could always use a stencil or a foam stamp, as well depending on the look you are trying to achieve.

While I allowed my vase and charger to dry, I got started on my felt flower. I followed the same instructions for a traditional felt flower, except I wrapped it around a piece of floral wire to make it look more like a stemmed rose. I glued every 1/2 inch or less and then used the leaves to cover up the bottom of the flower.

This project is very easy and simple and won’t take you too long to make. It’s a fun way to get ready for Valentine’s Day and is something you can reuse each year! Happy Valentine’s Day!
