Thanksgiving with McCormick’s Turkey Gravy Mix and GIVEAWAY to Crate and Barrel!

Thanksgiving is one week away and I’m not gonna lie…this is my first year having it at my house! Eek! In the past my family has always done dinner at my aunt’s house, but we’re switching things up a bit and I’m strapping my apron on and getting this show going! I’m NERVOUS about making this meal, you guys! I like to consider myself a good cook and a baker, but multi-tasking when cooking isn’t one of my strong points {thank goodness my mom will be there to teach me her ways}! My husband and I even bought a smoker and we’re not only hosting our first Thanksgiving dinner, but we’re also smoking our first turkey! That’s a LOT of firsts going on next week!

The one thing I know I won’t have any issues with though and that will make my crazy Thanksgiving a little less stressful is being able to use McCormick’s Turkey Gravy Mix to help me make my gravy. McCormick’s Turkey Gravy mix is SO easy to prepare and comes out delicious every time, so there’s no possible way I can mess it up! I’ve been practicing making different dinner elements before next week and I like this tasty blend of ingredients  that creates a savory, mouth-watering, lump-free gravy every time you make it. And one thing I truly appreciate at McCormick’s is that it’s made with natural spices, no artificial flavors or colors, no MSG, and has 0 trans fat, which you can’t always say about spice mixes!

McCormick Turkey Gravy Mix

I make my gravy recipe with a simple recipe I found on McCormick’s website:

2 packages McCormick® Turkey Gravy Mix
1/4 cup flour
3 cups water
1 cup turkey pan drippings or turkey broth
1 cup chopped cooked turkey giblets (optional, but a must for my family)

1. Mix Gravy Mix and flour in large saucepan. Gradually stir in water and turkey drippings with wire whisk until smooth. Stir in chopped turkey giblets, if desired.

2. Stirring frequently, cook on medium-high heat until gravy comes to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. (Gravy will continue to thicken upon standing.)

To add your own twist to this recipe you can add a pinch of rubbed sage, poultry seasoning, or thyme leaves and you can always visit their website for more recipes and ideas for ways to spice up your Thanksgiving meal!

My family really enjoys McCormick’s Turkey Gravy Mix and I know we’re all excited for our Thanksgiving Day meal and of course, the leftovers the next day are sometimes even better!

I can’t use the mix because I have Celiac but others in my family can. My advice……make sure you take the giblets bag out of the inside of the turkey. I think we all have done that once in our life. Good luck.

I love the McCormick gravy cause the flavor is great and its so easy to prepare. Sometimes when I try to make my own gravy it does not turn out. Using McCormick I know it will always turn out and taste great!

I love their gravy because no matter how hard I try, I can’t make gravy on my own…I too, have lots of gravy and you just can’t go wrong with theirs. (FB identity as Dawn Goldson Smith)
