Get the video camera ready and the camera battery charged!! Tomorrow night my sweet little guy is having his FIRST Christmas show! I’ve been so excited for this since they announced it. My little redhead loves to sing and I hope he enjoys himself tomorrow night. The toddler class, 3-4 year olds, and school age kids are all doing shows at a church down the street; however, we were told that during practice this week in front of all the daycare children the toddlers froze up. LOL So my expectations aren’t too high for a lot of singing, but either way it’ll be memorable. We got Andrew the cutest little sweater for the event and I’ll have plenty of photos and video to follow tomorrow.
In the meantime, we were asked to bring some cookies/desserts to share with the guests. So I made some fun cookies tonight for the event. I was inspired by the melting snowman cookies I’ve seen on Facebook lately, mainly THIS one from Relatively Reagan (her’s are WAY cuter than mine! and I changed mine up a bit).
My snowman cookies are seated on a sugar cookie (sliced out fresh!LOL) and after baked I put some white chocolate on top, spread it around with a spoon and added my marshmallow. I decorated the marshmallows with little mouths, noses, and eyes. The mouth and nose were made with little bottles of colored icing from the grocery store and the eyes were made out of melted down Hershey’s. I used red and purple fruit rollups to make the “scarves” and I added a few more mini chocolate chips for buttons on the snowman. Check out MY (not nearly as cute) version of the melting snowman cookie:
I made another cookie too that didn’t quite turn out the way I had expected, but I roll with the punches. These were supposed to be chocolate covered Oreo Santa belts on a stick, but the “on a stick” part didn’t quite work out. So I just dipped the top of the Oreo and decorated with with my Wilton melting chocolates. I think they turned out cute still even without being on a stick
I only dipped the top of my Oreos. These are for little kiddos, so I figured it would be less messy this way.
I then added a stripe for the belt using white chocolate
To finish it up, I melted down milk chocolate and added the belt buckle and button.
So what do you think? I’m not a perfect cookie decorator by ANY means and I don’t aim to be, but I do think they turned out fun and cute. ) Stay tuned tomorrow for more pics from the evening!
