I’ve been looking for a fun gift to make my coworkers and my son’s daycare teachers, so I took my candy corn bark that I used for Andrew’s 2nd birthday party as a favor and I modified it for the Christmas version.
Here’s what you need:
Pint sized mason jars
1/2 or 1 yard of fabric of your choice
Mini ornaments (I got 16 for $1 at Target)
Recipe:
One bag of pretzels
2 large bags of white chocolate
M&M’s in Christmas colors
Oreo Cookies–Christmas colored
Sprinkles (I used green sugar sprinkles)
Wax paper
Cookie sheet
Lay a piece of paper down on a large cookie sheet. Use your hands to break up about 3-4 handfuls of pretzels and spread around the cookie sheet. Then do the same with about 6-8 oreos until it looks evenly dispersed around the sheet. Layer some M&M’s over top of the cookies and pretzels. Then melt your white chocolate (about 1/2 bag) and drizzle over top of the mixture. Once chocolate is on there, sprinkle with green sugar sprinkles and even add some more M&M’s to the top. I used mint M&M’s for the top and then placed the whole thing in the fridge for about 15 minutes. When it’s cool, break the whole thing apart into small pieces and add to your pint size mason jars. Each jar takes about 1 to 1.5 cups of bark.
I made this recipe 4 times and it made about 17 mason jars full of Christmas Bark. I added circular pieces of polka dot fabric on top of each of the jars and embellished them with a little gold ornament.
I think they turned out really cute and they were affordable and fun ways to give a little something to my coworkers and son’s daycare teachers without breaking the bank. What are you giving to your coworkers/teachers/others this Christmas? They are so many good ideas out there!
