Andrew was born!

Last Wednesday, October 28th at 10:54 a.m. we welcomed our little man into the world! It was a crazy ride, but we made it. On Tuesday, during a meeting at work, my water broke. TOTALLY embarrassing, but my coworkers were amazing and my boss followed me to the hospital and sat there with me until Casey got there. From there, I was already dilated 4 cm, but was having no labor pains (contractions yes…pain no). We waited until 5:45 and due to no change, they started the dreadful pitocin. I didn’t start to feel terrible until about 9 p.m. when I asked for the epidural, which was a godsend. The epidural started to wear off every so often though and when it did, there was much tears, sobbing, and deep breathing (I really admire all of you who went au natural!). So needless to say, after 4 redoses on the epi, they came in about 9:30 a.m. and said that I wasn’t dilating past 9 cm and I had been there for 6 hours. Drew’s head wasn’t dropping far enough into my pelvis to push either. Rather than prolong my misery, we opted for the c-section and were quickly whisked away to surgery. At 10:54 a.m. we had him.
We got out of the hospital on Saturday and I was in a lot of pain until about yesterday. Right now, I still hurt, but its tolerable. Andrew is doing well and we are loving getting to know him and his little personality. The fact that I can sit here now and right this is a HUGE deal because usually I have little to no time where I’m not holding him, nursing him, or trying to sleep. I’m also elated at the fact that the pregnancy weight is falling off at a pretty rapid rate, which is really exciting…but I still have a ton to go…all 200% worth it though!
Here are the pictures we have so far from the hospital. More to come, I’m sure!
